Little Joy has been serving locals and travelers in the historic village of Del Mar since June 2019.

Drew and his small team have been working hard to spread joy with each carefully crafted drink that we make.

The cart itself was built several years ago and was formerly operated by Zumbar Coffee & Tea, where Drew was trained and worked for several years with some of the most talented and dedicated baristas in Southern California.

In 2019, the opportunity to purchase the cart came about, and Drew acquired the business from his former employer. It was a win-win-win that enabled him to begin his life-long dream of owning and operating a renowned and well respected cafe.

Hailing from the salty shores of the the southern coast of Massachusetts, Drew has mostly worked as an educator during his professional career. He continues to teach online courses at Bunker Hill Community College (Boston), where he’s taught history, politics and poetry, and has worked as an advisor to students.

The cart is the first step toward creating a coffee-centered community. Little Joy brings together friends and neighbors, family, travelers, and visitors from around the world - all to share a common moment of joy and sense of community along our bustling, beautiful coastline.
